For sale is our trusted 1982 300DT 4 speed – Conversion of 240d Manual w/ 4 speed chassis (1982) with 300d-turbo (1983 engine)
235k Miles. At the time of conversion (9/03), the chassis had 194k miles while the engine (from a Houston car) had 193k on it. $1400 OBO Vin# WDBAB23A1CB297902 Goods i. Coveted 300 flywheel (from euro parts car) and conversion into 4 speed ii. Highly dependable as my son's daily driver for five years. Six, 1400 mile round trips to college and back. iii. Repainted, (silver), repainted alloys iv. CD Player v. 80k Matching Michelins (almost new) on alloys vi. Clear front marker lenses vii. Sunroof works, manual windows viii. New within the last year: Upper Control Arms, Shocks (4 Bilstein), Tie Rods, Steering Dampner, Drag Link, Idler Arm repair, sway bar bushings ix. All records from 2003 on the chassis, records from 2002 on the engine Bad i. Hole through back floor, but patched ii. Cracked dash (many) iii. No AC iv. Lots of small picky stuff v. Surface rust beginning to appear in several places vi. Small leak comes down the inside of the front windshield vii. Driver's side window (manual) acting up viii. Fan recently stopped blowing ix. Door locks not working Summary: For the right person, this is a great car because of the dependability factor AND the unique conversion. The small stuff needs attention. Good humor on the forum.
The reason I left 240D on the trunk lid is the same conclusion you might come to when purchasing annual plates. Try comparing an 83 300DT to a 82 240D. I'm in Cannonsburg, just outside of Rockford. |
