FS documented low mileage 1984 euro 280e w/ pics .....

I have reluctantly decided to sell my 1984 euro 280e with 89,xxx miles.
The car wears its original thistle green paint with blemish-free dark pine cloth interior. The car is 100% original and is complete with all the documented maintenance records, german manuals, booklets and 4 keys including the original vinyl key fob. The documented service history shows the car was given the utmost care. All the equipment on the car still works and the vacuum lines for the adjustable headlights are still intact. The car also has the original tool kit, trunk triangle, german first aid kit, spare tire with extra hubcap, and front license plate frame. The car also still has the original german dealer sticker on the windshield. The car is 100% free of rust on the top as well as the undercarriage. The rubber seals on the glass are still soft and pliable further evidence that this car was truly cared for during its life. The interior is mint with no fading of carpet or interior. The turn signal stalk shows no wear of the paint and the steering wheel still looks new with no wear to the texture. The dash is also free of cracks. The car is still very tight when driving. I left all the original wax on the door bottoms. The wood on the glove box needs to be reglued on the one side.

asking 8500.00 USD .....I have more money in the car...... if interested please email me for pics or questions at vascsurg2007@yahoo.com.

Looks like a beautiful example, however, how can you document mileage on a euro car, since EU does not(and never had),odometer statement laws,a car can be imported with any given miles and installed a US spec cluster that starts anywhere the owner wants...

mileage explained

the mileage can be explained by the fact that I have the original pricelist that the original owner took notes on two different cars he was considering purchasing. this car......i believe had 4500km on it when he purchased it for i believe 36900DM.

Didn't he explain in post 3 that it was swapped with a MPH speedo and new odometer at 4500 KMs?

Also priced aggressive = priced cheap, which I don't think you were implying. If you were selling that 280e AMG today for close to this price I would be mailing you a check Monday.

I think its a gorgeous car, and not priced out of this world like most people with low mileage examples they're too proud of. I'd suggest listing it in The Star or Hemmings to attract buyers with more disposable income. There's not many people like that here. Time will be the enemy, though.

Telling someone their car is overpriced on a public forum only hurts their chances of attracting a seller. Its not like he's asking a crack pipe price of 10k+; then I'd be poking with my sharp stick.

Here was a comparable car of recent. Even with the bad color matched rear it brought a good chunk of change on ebay.

$8500 seems a bit steep to me too. However it is a beautiful car, if it were a manual I'd probably suck it up and pay what ever you price you asked.

In an effort for courtesy, I'll remove my post. He's free to ask what he wants, but I've been searching for a good 280TE for years now, so I'm quite familiar with the current market. And when I was selling my 280E AMG, I got lots of "I'll send you a check tomorrow" posts, but when it came down to it, the talk was rather cheap.

PS - I know what "crack pipe" means too.

I think you can tell from my signature that I'm one of those crazies that follows through.

I just saw this on craigslist as I'm from cincy and am in town for the weekend.

Put it on ebay.

People on craigslist are too cheap, and people on forums are too smart. Not saying it stupidly priced but forums (I am one of them) are full of people who know EXACTLY what they THINK a car is worth. Note the irony.

Nice car.
