Am I asking too much for my beloved MBs?
Hi, I am thinning down to one MB as I find myself sucked into other projects. I posted my three cars on craigslist and no bites, tho it's only been a week--I respectfully ask your opinion if I'm asking too much--any input appreciated.
craigslist ad in seattle as posted below http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1886457121.html |
Ah yes, I've seen your ad before.
I think you may want to address more of the cars' good qualities. As the ad stands, they all sound pretty iffy (lotsa stuff not working on them and high miles), except for maybe "Tulip". Also, I would add some more pictures, people like pictures. And, did you see this Craigslist ad? Someone in Shoreline is looking for a 300td, maybe you could sell them one of yours-- http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1889976142.html |

I contacted the Shoreline ad, yes, and they're "working on a wagon deal," maybe with that red $1500 one I also saw in the Seattle area, although it "needs TLC." Thanks again, -noah |
Since your add is gone, I can't comment on it, but if the previous poster found the add lacking, then it's a good idea to "punch it up a bit" before giving up.
Now, once the add has great descriptions, and a good set of pictures, and there is still no interest, the remaining reason is likely that the the price is too high. Regardless of how much you value your car, the critical point is in the hands of the buyer. He doesn't have to buy your car, so he's in control. Price too high = no calls. Also, set up an individual add for each car, bulk adds invite serious lowballing ,and you might want to stagger the adds to avoid flooding the market. You can always introduce the other cars once your mark, er customer, is at your home. Good luck! Jim |
Good stuff, thanks guys. I will re-post the ads next week after a busy weekend passes. Hmm... they're much easier to buy than to sell, that's for sure...
