Gentlemen
My warehouse space has just been leased ( the economy is picking up ?)

My perfect space - 900 sq ft , lights heat , shelving are no longer available to me. I have no space at home and the prospect of finishing in drive way along with the wife complaining about "her " driveway ........ I 'm letting it go , send me a email lets talk

The Car - 1971 280 w108 sat for 17 years - very little rust
a suitable car for refurbish
just installed "newer" motor 6cyl dual carbs
motor in , trans hooked up , electrical hooked up
Gas tank out for refurbish , new fuel lines

interior a little rough , sagging headliner , nice dash
all interior wood , 2 extra front bows

Lots of extra parts -
40,000 mile transmission extra , multiple ( four) heater / blower controls
a/c compressor, extra radiator , all interior etc etc
( a whole parts car if you like 70 280sel - nice blue interior , 40,000 mile front end)
The blue car is located in Owings Mills Md 21208 and the Parts car Howard county Md route 32 / 70

Snap on brand yellow tool box included along with engine lift .

email jgranzier@comtradesinc.com

adding 89 300se to mix as well
runs drives , nice int, Relatively low mile 6 cyl - body has 189,000 and motor has 50,000 less miles

Will need head gasket in time and more immediate work on loose valve rocker (?)

very little rust , decent paint
lots of front end work completed all records and receipts

Hey Joe - how's the SE been for you? Last I heard you and the daughter took a cross-country road trip in it - had my fingers crossed on that one... how many miles do you think you put on it?

All - I'm the PO and have some more of the history if anyone's interested. I liked it a lot.

jgranzier 02-27-2012 06:00 PM

Thanks Scott
its been a fine car - maybe I put 10-12k on it . I should have taken your que
= as I LIKED THE CAR - my daughters ......not so much .

The valve rocker assembly started to rattle and I 'VE STOPPED DRIVING IT .
Could be simple issue - but have to many projects and as stated above lost my space and now my desire. Will hold on to the "rat rod " w108 and thats enough !
Thanks for checking in

Fellas
As stated ( hopefully more precisely this time)

I lost my space and ultimately my inclination to complete this and any other project. ( did you know you can lease a brand new 32mpg NEW camry
for....... $ 210/month - friggin cheap cheap. Drive anywhere ,comfy ,
good heat nice a/c - comfy like
no tools , no grease, great stereo , 65mph ,75mph no shake rattle roll and no oil stains on driveway
and no maintenance cost for 3 years .)

God oh how I hate to say my wife is right

so I have one incomplete project car
how incomplete is it you might ask?

most of the bull work is done - newer engine in place
- radiator in
- transmission in , gear selector mechanism hooked up , electrical hooked up
- coolant lines hooked up
- distributor electrical hooked up
- new fuel line in place

What needs to be done ?
- vacuum lines to carbs
- electrical to carbs
- electrical to front fan, and front fan
- all a/c components
- gas tank and sender
- check brakes and hoses.I have all the filters, new fuel strainer and hoses and belts

** I estimate this to be 20,30,40 hours worth the work - some guys are faster than others , different levels of expertise **

Not a whole lot of cash to get this up and running. From this point i believe you'll have a decent running car that can be driven and enjoyed
I have all the filters, new fuel strainer and hoses and belts

Its a 40 year old car - Im sure there are many more hours of fun to come
all provided at no extra charge

I lost my space , the car has to be out of there by THIS COMING SATURDAY
SUNDAY AT LATEST.
The car at the Farm - howard county md route 70 and 32 has another week
- its pretty well picked over - no engine or tranny
the only asset is the blue interior - VERY NICE
- its not worth taking after that , would'nt pay to haul away - dont think - but if you want it its all yours
- just spend a few hours take the interior and I scrap or you can take with you

The 1989 126 is a decent car. A runner . Will need a head gasket in time and more immediate attention to valve rocker assembly. Its rattling. I stopped driving it until i could get to it . There has been no time for it.
I have extra rims but no tires - at this price your need tires
I m keeping the current rims and tires that are on the car.

Let me know fellas - its gotta go

today is Wednesday 2/29
I have time today , Friday afternoon and Saturday

for those of us keeping score, i now have two of the three cars back at home, thanks to joe's gracious partial delivery of the running/diving 300se!! the third car was also supposed to arrive today but the gent that i contracted to tow it here decided it couldn't be done....."but wait!!" you might say...."don't you HAVE a way to tow it yourself?...i saw the picture of your truck....." good questions, but i spent $150 in fuel going down and back, and this fellow was going to bring me the car for $255:eek: on a tow dolly......but alas, i may have to go get it myself:cool:
