Asking upper end of NADA values but car is worth it. Mint condition.

gorgeous car. GLWS. I think I'll look for a set of those wheels for my car. my 98 is a twin.

It is a nice looking car,
but 300k salvage title and full repaint for 11,500?

oldsinner111 02-04-2018 04:20 AM

should be $3000 max with all those miles, might be a flood car too.

I didn't see the mileage or salvage title part. I got around $3700 for a car with slightly more miles on it in similar condition. I think that's fair for this car. And considering the age and that they aren't worth much more than $4k I wouldn't even care about a salvage title.. It isn't some collectable Porsche so that doesn't even really account in the sale. what matters if the work was done good and it appears to be but who knows underneath the fenders.

I wonder how much was spent on the paint job.

i can't get a sniff at 3500 for a 190k mile one with a clean title.
$11.5k is just not going to happen

I did not want to chime in earlier, but north of 5K is wishful thinking. But then again, why do some people pay big dollars for 250 HP thirty year Ferraris.

LWB250 02-09-2018 07:53 AM

The crack is strong with this one. Low 100k range with one owner, southern car around here will barely touch $5k. I've seen a couple of them in the last few months and neither of them sold at that price.

I don't get why people think Nada means something when it comes to market value... I also don't understand how people also don't know what mint condition means

Is your brother's E300D for sale?

oldsouth 02-15-2018 09:29 PM

Hey, you never know. I can always come down but you can never go up after advertising a price. Car really is in mint condition except for some curb rash on the wheels and some cracks where the dash meets the windshield. Other than that, you could not tell it from a new one.... Honestly. No flood damage, just the wreck mentioned and it was fixed right. Heck the paint job cost the insurance about what yall say the car is worth... geez....

pj67coll 02-15-2018 11:40 PM

Sorry. Nice as it is the price is simply too high. Especially being an Illinois origin vehicle. Spring perches?

- Peter.

oldsouth 02-16-2018 07:58 AM

Spring Perches were replaced by Mercedes under warranty long time ago. Rust under molding of the top of the doors fixed also. I realize the price is high but honestly can't see myself going below $7500. Not in a hurry to sell. I will gradually lower price till someone bites.

$7500 is an asking price that may take two, three years or never. $5k is the maximum price someone will pay for a low mileage 100k or less, southern original pristine E300. Keep the car and drive it if you're going to take that much of a loss on the car. The price is very, very optimistic. Maybe about 6 years ago it would be different.
