Steering wheel on the wrong side. Tough sell.

Listed to be in the Austin area, but no inspection sticker/registration sticker. You also have to watch grey market or not properly imported vehicles.

It's a common rust repair in the jeep world to replace rocker panels with 3/16 box tubing.

Although the gcan here looks a little bit different...

I'm not sure how inspections work in TX but st least its over 25 years old which means its fundamentally legal.

That's its own can of worms, I've "imported" a car that was already here but it was tough. I later tried to legalize an R32 Skyline that had been brought in illegally years ago but is now 25 years old and could not get it done. Now a Skyline is more of a buzz word with US customs than a G wagon or the Alfa Romeo I imported, but they have a lot of questions about how the car got into the country and if you can't answer them or they don't like the answer you've got problems.

That being said, tons of G wagons have been imported into the US legally over the years, its likely its 100% on the up and up. Heck we both own legally imported W460s. Also if he's got a Texas title and rego you're unlikely to ever be called out on it when the new owner takes possession and starts driving it.

As for the RHD aspect, they may be a slower sell but plenty of people find it cool, I buy and sell a lot of RHD cars and I always find a buyer. I even have a RHD 230GE right now.

No surprise on the trouble with that Skyline given its notoriety. Although i'm surprised that it missed the crusher considering its past import history. It would probably be easier to import one directly from Japan now then deal with an already here shady one.

Yes there are plenty of original Grey market Gwagens here to pick from if you're patient. Also a lot more have been coming over since the earliest examples became legal again after 2005.

Here in CT it actually isn't too uncommon to see a RHD Land Rover series or Defender running around. I remember seeing at least 5 in the last year in various corners of the state. (One was a brand new bump on the hood Defender which could not have been legal.....however it was Greenwich.....)
