CA - Friend is selling his W210 Turbo Diesel

A buddy asked me to share the W210 turbo diesel he's selling on here...

Long story short - he bought this W210 diesel to replace a W210 wagon my in-laws bought. It was his daily for a bit before he came across a crazy good deal on a W211 diesel that he couldn't pass up. My friend (Jeremy) is a technician at an MB dealer with a 125 mile round trip commute, so he's addressed everything mechanical and suspension wise that the car needed.

As far as condition goes, it shows very well for a 20 year old MB with 225k miles and drives perfect. I've put some miles on it when he did some work on my car, and can report that it's solid. The overhead console (lamp assembly) has a little fan for the climate control system that squeaks a bit, and some of the stitching on various interior pieces is starting to wear - but those are minor. Drive-train and suspension are super smooth at freeway speeds and cruising around town. It has spent its 20 year life in the CA Central Valley, so there's no rust! It was recently painted, so that may or may not be a bonus for you. Paint-job quality is very good, but not a concourse job (but probably better than 90% of W210s out there!)

Car is 100% stock and will pass CA smog. If there's interest, I can have it put up on a lift and take pictures of the underside in detail. I don't think he is in a hurry to sell, but do think he wouldn't mind having some driveway space back. I can help make arrangements to have it inspected by a third party and/or getting additional pictures. I also have an SDS if any information from that would be of interest!

This is a super clean W210 diesel and I'd really like to see it stay in the community!

Edit: he also mentioned he is a little flexible on price, and would entertain offers as long as you don't low-ball him. Car is located in Roseville, CA (just outside of Sacramento) and the asking price is $4000.

WOW thats a really fine looking 210 turbodiesel! :)
I would have bought it but I own one already, long story but I was on a trip when my wife had a wreck in our "other" '87 diesel (I owned 2 of them at the time) and I had an opportunity to buy a '99 TD from a Forum member in SoCal with about 220K on it so I drove it home for her.

It has the optional computer screen with all the fancy display and a load of navigation CD's you had to stuff in it as you crossed state lines, really outmoded nowdays by GPS but it serves an important purpose as it shows what track is playing on the CD player in the trunk.

Its now got a rebuilt transmission and my wife's niece drives it to college.
I consider it the greatest road car I've owned, despite the super faded silver paint (it was frequently parked in the high desert).

Sure the '95 E320 (gasser) wagon is what I drive now on trips but if I had to do a lot of commuting the '99 turbodiesel would be my first choice.
Its such a solid feel on the road and I love to feather the accelerator pedal as lightly as possible on a long trip and watch the fuel computer calculation climb to nearly 30MPG and even higher down hill!
GL with the sale!

Chatted with him yesterday, and it sounds like he's going to lower the price to $3500 but still entertain offers.

Pics..

Does he have any maintenance records?

Can you post a few more pics? Maybe underbelly, and interior?

Looks like it sold. Ad deleted. Looks exactly like the car I just bought.
