This is a seriously great car ! .

I'm sure my '82 240D with slushbox is slower yet I don't care ~ I've driven it across America including the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico, it was comfy, safe and economical .

Parchment is *SO* pretty ! .
It’ll take $5,000 to buy the car.

I met you and your boy at an LA car meet.

I know you’d give it a good home if you did, I’m not letting the car go to anybody that won’t take care of it. For some reason I just love this little car and I know I will regret letting it go.

Talking 240D Love

Yes, just so .

Sadly at this point I need to have an automatic so my sweet can drive it in a pinch, this was the first Mercedes I ever bought, at her request .

I've had six Mercedes W123 Diesels, (three coupes) ad still have three W123's, this old 240D stripper is hands down my favorite one for reasons I don't fully understand .

If I had your car I'd work diligently to get a five speed for it I *think* having never driven a manual box 240D I don't actually know but in general, splitting the ratios by adding more gears is always the right thing to do .

Here's hoping the right person comes along to buy this car .

I drove one with a five speed and a taller rear end, to be honest I like the quirky personality of the car as it stands. I just don’t drive this one when I’m in a hurry.

And I have found a good home for this car, but I get to keep it for a few more weeks so there’s still at least one more trip to the grocery store for me.

Thumbs up SOLD ! (maybe)

Good to hear, this car is obviously a sweetie .

I'm daily driving my beloved '82 240D right now, it isn't fast but I don't care ~ I can ride the fast lane on my Moto or '84 300CD....

Talking " I loved every minute of owning that car. "

...Even the endless tinkering and parts needs ? .

If it lasts 200 years my 1982 240D will never be worth the $ I've dumped into it, like you I love driving it and hand waxed it yesterday, too bad I cannot post images .

I need to put in another parts order to the M-B Classic Center...

Great story. I bet your daughters became better drivers in that thing over learning in a Corolla. My kids refuse to drive a stick.
