Man, as much as pain in the rear those can be, they're so cool. Trabants, Yugos, and Ladas, gotta love 'em.

I just got back from a trabi ride. Mine is quite dependable, quick, and even goes on the interstate at times. Ladas are ok too, just no character like having 27hp...

Trabants were well engineered, for what they had to work with. Yugo's just seem disappointing in general(at least in stock form). I've had many older vehicles, and for a all around small, odd, affordable- yet useable car- Trabant is it.. To put it simply-" It works".

No vapor lock, or overheating either.

I wanted this 170 to be as good as Mr. Trabant (dependability, and ease of use wise). So one could simply hop in it and go. I just don't see that happening for me. This is my fault, and not the Mb's

I'm not one to kepp vehicles I can't, or don't want to use. I don't own a trailer, so what ever it is better run there, and make it back. Keeps things interesting!

I definitely agree!

That's kinda what I'd like for the 170; I wanna be able to take it anywhere, including driving it daily if the mood strikes me.

I popped it on ebay. The CL ad ilinked s dead for now.

Ebay link : https://www.ebay.com/itm/224626341835

If there is any serious interest, just send a question, or offer through Ebay. I do like screwy cars as well.

Yep, it left for Europe back in November. I still have some misc engine parts left(things that wouldn't fit in the car). Like a block, camshaft, crank, and oil pan to fit a 180d. Don't know what to do with these few parts. I hate to haul off stuff like this, but I do need the room. I already store way to many car parts as it is...

I'm still glad the 170 is gone. Was neat to play with, it just needed too much of everything..

Interesting to see this pop back up, it seems the 170220.org website is down, and has been down, likely for good now.

These much older MBs seem to get lost here and on other forums where more recent cars are the hot topic.
