I am interested in purchasing an AMG suspension kit (springs/shocks/sway bars) and a cat-back exhaust system for my 2000 E430 (W210). The E55 set-up would be ideal, or a "Sportline" kit. Any suggestions other than the local MB dealer? Thanks

Eric

We can provide all of the parts to convert your 210 to E55 suspension. It appears the price would be around $2,050 + shipping.

If interested e-mail lee@peachparts.com

I'd be curious to know how you come out on the muffler. I can't seem to find a good source for one and I've been in the parts business for nealy 20 years. Let me know if you find a good source. BTW, I just got the H&R's on my sport e 430 today, mounting the wheels in a couple of days. If there's a place, I'll post a picture when it's done. Thanks, allen.

Allen,

With regards to the exhaust, there are a few shops in the Los Angeles area. On January 8-16, 2000, the L.A. Auto Show will have many of the local vendors. I'll check it out and report back if I find anything worthy.

How do you like the H&R setup?

Eric

The W210 AMG exhaust can be ordered from any dealer. The part # 6-6-03-0843 and retails for $1018.00. www.statusimports.com sells it for $899

Kevin,

Thanks for the information. BTW, how is the AMG exhaust tone and performance? I assume it's mild.

Jeneric21, Yes the AMG sound is very mild. It is barely noticeable at any time! I wish I had gone with the Lorinser.

I was just wondering, is the exhaust Cat-back or just the muffler? How many pieces are there in the package?
thanks

Donny, the AMG I installed is just the rear muffler. However, the E55 AMG has different headers and 4 catalytic convertors. I'll post to see if it is bolt on application.

I also put the AMG exhaust on my 98 E430 , but ever since then when I turn off my engine, the back of my car started to have some knocking sound, I wonder if it's the exhaust or something...but it looks better than the stock one with their exhaust hiding.

Also, are there any significant difference in handling if thicker anti-roll bars were fitted into my E430? (i mean, could you feel it?) I asked several shops, but i couldn't get a definite answer...

I assume the muffler shop had to cut your rear bumper in order for the exhaust to fit. Is the cut noticeable?

Anti-roll bars will help make the car corner more flat. The trade off is a slightly harsher ride when only one side of the car hits a bump or hole. Check out www.tirerack.com. It has a great article on anti-roll (sway bars).

Actually, they didn't cut my bumper because I have the AMG bodykit for my car. But they had to cut the underbody pipes in order to fit the muffler in. I wonder if that cause the problem...

Eric,

how much did you get for your rims? I am interested of getting a set of those, but it's relatively more expensive than the other tuners' wheels.

Will,

The rims retail for about $1200 to $1500 each. I paid a few hundred above $5000 for the package. I was able to get the front rims 19x8.5 w/et35(offset) and the rears 19x9.5 w/et35. They are fitted with P7000s.

The place I went to professional rolled the fender to avoid any possibility of rubbing. They guaranteed no paint peeling or deformation of the fender. It came out perfect. So make sure your shop has a professional machine to do the rolling. I love the looks and handling with this set up. I will try to post a picture of the car in the near future.

jeneric21, when your fenders were rolled did the shop heat up the paint. I have heard that heating the paint is important. Did you upgrade the suspension to E55 parts or any other tuner yet?
