Hey, have you seen this: Variable Traction Control from this outfit: http://www.opera-design.de/
Go to "News" and scoll down to the bottom. Is this hot stuff or a bunch of hooey?? How about that Launch Control Function :D ------------------ 2000 CLK 430 Silver/Charcoal On Order: CLK 55 |
This is similar to the device used on the DTM cars from several years ago. They had real time telemetric adjustment to allow maximum acceleration that would accommodate changing track comnditions. This has since been written out of the rules. Max acceleration occurs with approx. 15% wheelspin. This device can balance wheelspin with tire slip to permit earlier application of the throttle in a turn and maximize acceleration without a bad case of power oversteer.

How does a traction control for a Mercedes (E500?) work?
Will it just take back the throttle if it detects wheelspin? Why is it difficult to disable in a E500? regards, Robert Z '86 16v |
