Bought a few cans of Ate's Super Blue fluid. I'm going to replace the fluid in the 300SD with it for the upcoming MB club track events, and will also do the same in my BMW 745i for when BMW CCA racing rolls around. Anyhow, we use Ate SL fluid at the shop which is great stuff, but I just wanted to know if any of you guys out there have used the Super Blue yet and how well does it hold up to track punishment? Until now I have just used MB or the Ate SL fluid for track events but have experienced some overheating after pushing the car(s) hard. Thanks for any input!

I've been using ATE "super blue" in my 16-valve racecar for over 5 years and have no complaints. Of course, the brakes get bled before each race week-end (part of my prep list), but I never have any problems at all.
Just remember that on the track you need plenty of air flow to your calipers.

I believe ATE Super Blue and ATE SL are both rated the same. Check out ATE's website.

I annually switch between the yellow/gold and the blue fluid to know when my system is throughly flushed.

About 5 years ago I saw Jos Bekkers beautiful 300E on it's roof due to brake failure with super-blue at Atlanta motor speedway. Remember that racing fluid should be used for racing. Don't mix brake fluids, Dot5 & Dot3 or 4 don't mix well. ATE 200 dot4+ is one of the best that you can buy!! Flushing the system is very important.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I wouldn't switch to DOT 5 in a million years. Obviously DOT 4 is what these cars call for. The original Mercedes-Benz fluid is DOT 4 plus which is what I have in the car (300SD) now, but I haven't changed it since last summer, and have three cans of Super Blue here in the garage that I want to use. One's for the BMW, the other is planned for the 300SD, and the third is a spare. I'll be quite eager to throw my W116 300SD around Nelsons Ledges to prove to these W126 guys that the 116 was the best handling of them all.
