Looking for rear struts

Hi All: anyone have a line on a retailer for a good deal on new rear hydro shocks for my '94 E500? I need to replace them to eliminate an annoying noise.

Curious about the noise. I have an odd noise also and have been contemplating new rear shocks. I have a real strong groaning / squeaking sound on the right side when going over bumps, especially at low speed. You can also hear it if you bounce the car when it's parked. If you put your hand on the top of the shock (moving the trunk lining) you can really feel the groan.

Seems to be more prevalent after a drive, i.e. when things are warmed up. All other rear components seem tight and my car only has 54K.

i have two very good shape hydro rear shocks, i took out for h&R springs and yellow bilsteins

i would sell you them for 100 each plus shipping

That's my story also. At first I thought (hoped) it was the upper strut bushings but after they were replaced the noise persisted from the strut itself.

I got mine from Sachs directly. They gave them to me free as warranty replacements (I'd bought a new pair thru MBZ about 2 yrs prior, and MBZ's warranty is only 1 yr, whereas Sachs is lifetime). Call 800-321-0784 and see if Tim is still there. In my case, since my receipt had been damaged in a flood, he accepted pictures of the Sachs logo on the strut bodies as proof that I owned them, and they were on the right car; 2 new shocks showed up less than a week later, and they've been perfect.

Searched everywhere and found these guys online, I bought a set last year from (Tony?). Don't expect great customer service and have the part numbers!

Problem solved! I had a price war going between two local dealers and got a pair of OE Sachs-Boge rear hydro shocks for just $100 more than it would have cost to mail order (add shipping, duty, sales tax, currency conversion, and #$%*# UPS brokerage fees).

As I see it, buying from an authorized local source can be worth a little extra cost if problems arise. The MB dealer already told me they wouldn't warranty any non-factory parts. And thanks Michael for that factory warranty info!
