Engine weight 2.6 m103 vs. 3.2 m104 vs. 5.0 m119
hello,could some one tell me the exact weight of these engines (year 87-93)

i dont know
but i believe you will find that there is not a lot of difference in the weights. the first two have iron blocks, the third is al. i think that mb took a lot of trouble to make the egines very similar in weights so that handling is always about the same regardless of engine installed.... within reason.

Found this link a while ago, could prove useful. I've copied/pasted the Mercedes section. Weights are in pounds. It's a bit of a guess, but I'd say the M103 weighs 441 pounds, the M117 457 pounds and I don't know about the M119, 452 pounds possibly? Not sure about the M104 either, somewhere between the M103 and the V6s I'd guess, so maybe 400 puonds?
