A lot of engineering went into designing your car. When you alter that design you risk unexpected results. The routing of the exhaust system has some fairly close tolerances.
You probably saved maybe $300.00 or so. Who knows what the result will be. Louder would be a good guess. Personally, I chose to stay with with stock components. Steve |

You ARE aware that the center resonator has two pipes going in and one pipe coming out. Simply removing it isn't really simple at all. I commend your decision to keep the catalyst. Seems every yahoo with a hacked up airbox thinks 100hp is waiting for them before the catalyst

i know this isnt easy but can you just make a "y" or weld them. also what are the advantages of a high flow catalytic converter?

one disadvantage would be you will probably get a loud exhaust that will really bother you when on the highway.
I don;t think that removing the resonator/center muffler will do much change to the car's exhaust, but you can weld in a Y pipe. I had a glasspack rear muffler on my car at one point, no ill effects, but the sound on the highway was annoying after a while. I have a remus now, which sounds great, not too loud, not too quiet, and car is quiet ont he highway compared to the other muffler I ad. If I were to do it all over, I would have gone with the remus fromt he start. Alon

i just installed today custom y pipe into a 3 inch pipe back to the muffler
not loud at all nice deep tone, when i stomp on it i really hear a growl that i love. Also are higher RPMs expected when you get a new more open muffler? |
