500e power steering noise

The power steering on my 92 500e has started to make a loud moaning noise when first started. the noise pitch rises with rpm and I suspect the power steering pump. I have heard that v8 124s eat these pumps, and also that there is a line upgrade that is recommended although I havnt been able to get specifics on searching the archive.A post on tech help went unanswered so i am asking this forum for advice and info.
The noise, btw lessens but does not completely disappear when the car warms up.
