ALLDATA subscription
ALLDATA claims to have all these:
Factory Recall and Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) - Information that addresses safety, reliability, performance and comfort related problems with your car - Special Warranty provisions and extensions - Fixes for common problems and updated factory repair procedures Illustrated Diagnosis and Repair Procedures OEM Part Numbers Diagnostic Charts and Trouble Codes Component Locations and Diagrams Factory Maintenance Schedules And Much More! Anybody subscribe for the 500E? Would appreciate feedback before I fork over my $24.95. Thanks! |
I have been trying several times to register but had a problem with the credit card...The first time I got access by a mail I got from a fellow Dutchman and have surfed around the 300SL24 section.
They have a lot of useful information, but it is all related to US models (no problem for you). I saw the US CD changer mount on alldata as well and couldn't figure out the complex frame I have... I guess that it is worth the 25$ for some of the models (dunno about the 500E though). greetingz, |
I use ALLDATA (along with my CDs) for my 94 E420. For the price, I think it's great. A local mechanic told me that they used ALLDATA to determine their labor hours on jobs, so I knew exactly what I was going to pay when I got my A/C fixed there.

I just took the plunge.
Observations: - there seems to be a LOT of data in there. - especially cool is the step by step diagnostics procedure (assuming you have the necessary gadgets) - the charts and DTCs were pretty much complete - the component locations were so so...pictures instead of drawings would have been more useful - I can't seem to locate the part numbers section (e.g. I went through the process for the Air Temp Sensor...it told me where it is, how to fix it, what DTCs relate to it, labor hours, etc. but I couldn't for the life of me find the part number for the Air Temp Sensor!) |
My guess is that the part # for the air temp sensor on your 93 500E is the same as for my 94 E420. Part # is 009 542 6817.
Easiest thing to do is pull off the old one and get the part # off of it. If it matches mine, let me know... I have an extra (new). Willy |
