Well an update is due I guess ![]() I have decided to go with an alcohol injection system and should be ordering the coolingmist kit with the Vari-cool and smart injector controller this kit has gr8 potential and several features other than just the alcohol injection. The kit can read several inputs to generate a map for how much and when to inject. Ill be using rpm vs. boost in setting up the map, my intention to use alcohol is based on several factors. First alcohol has 2 features; it raises octane and thus resistance for detonation and it cools the intake charge which helps in my case with my top mount intercooler and the lack of oil squirt under my pistons. Thus I need to cool my pistons down a tad. Secondly I need the extra alcohol in tuning the few lean spots I have in my tune. second feature the kit has is the programmable out put triggers, ill use that to trigger the full throttle switch when running on part throttle. The controller can be set to trigger the switch when boost is present and rpm is below say 4500, above that its off. In my case I run lean when on part throttle in that range but fine above 4500 rpm but if I keep the enrichment on car gets very rich above 4500 on. any way I should be getting the kit here by the 6th of jan 09, and will post the results once installed and running. kit also has a flow sensor to detect clogged injector and it has several fail safe options, btw with alcohol I should be able to advance my spark which will yield more hp on same boost. PS now in the cold of winter here (morning temps 7 degrees Celsius) my car is running 0.6 bar boost instead of the usual 0.5 bar

^Brilliant work been reading this thread for a while-but only just joined this site.
I have a M103 Mosselman TT aswell, the original management has packed up so using the same Split Second unit as RBYCC as recommended by him.(thanks Ed) Need to source a 2nd hand plenum to get machined to mount the injectors. How long did it take you to make your plenum out of fibreglass? also what injectors are you using? and once again brilliant work! |

Sorry for the late reply, i am using the stock injectors but have installed the fuel head of the 300-24, if ur going with additional injectors there is no need to change anything on your setup. the fiberglass part took a day to be made, i gave the guy the rubber boot and he used it for the cast, picked it up the very next day. i am still not using additional injectors, i keep saying i will, and in the end i will.

the kit is almost 90% ready, i have the injector placed in after the intercooler, and the tank is installed with the pump and the second controller in the trunk.
all i have todo is connect the pressure line and tidy upl the wires. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
