Enhancing a 1999 C 230 Kompressor

Hello All:
I have a 5-day-old 1999 C 230 Kompressor, and I'd like to modify it a bit so it can be even quicker. I am very new to all this, and want to turn to the experienced members of this Forum to kindly help me out.
Thanks very much in advance.

1. How much would it cost to put in a rear spoiler (with brake lights), incl labor?
2. I've recently heard of "chip tuning" wherein the ECU is modified by using EEPROM modification or by using a totally different, programmed chip.
Is it a good thing to do? Would it nullify the warranty of the car in any way? If not, how much am I looking at, and where/how do I find a GOOD, reputable place to do it in Houston, Texas, or close?

Thanks again!
Regards,
Sesh:)

Hmm, I don't know about the rear spoiler. About the chips, I don't know of any companies that make chips for MB's, but I hear heard that www.evosport.com is working hard on coming out with chips for MB's. How about a Brabus tuning kit? It consists of a larger pulley for the supercharger, air routing and filter, and their exhaust. It costs $3052. If you're interested visit www.brabus.com. www.renntechmercedes.com also has tuning kit for the C230K. Just click on W202 C-class.

Cool!

Thanks for the info and the assistance. The site looks good! I shall check it out and see if someone in Houston can get the whole thing done and running...

Oh, and the Brabus tuning kit will bump up your HP from 185 to 210.

Any idea about the cost?

I'm opening a new thread anyway - but please do let me know if you have used either Brabus/Renntech.

Hey sveerara,
If you want to mod, you should really wander on over to Benzsport. Especially a "C". Just click the link in my sig. Lotsa C Class peeps over there can tell you lots about Renntech and Brabus (one of our sponsors is a certified Brabus dealer and gives some good deals).

There is lotsa knowlege in both forums, but I kinda use this one for more technical, OEM type, questions, and Benzsport for aftermaket tips and mods.

We seem to share a lot of members and that's cool. It's just that you may get a better response to this question over there and if your house is anything like mine, you have to make the most of your "computer time" ;) . Paul.
