Engine numbers

Hi there

On the service papers I get at every service the engine number i stated. Is this number a production serial number of some sort ?

My number is: 119974-12-006906

I know that the 119 relates to the engine type of the 500E, but what does the 974 and the 12 mean ?

Does this mean that my engine is number 6906 build ?
