I'm hopefully gonna hit the yard tomorrow for that bar I mentioned earlier. It was only a M104 R129 though but the bar still looks mighty big though probably not as big as a M119's bar would be.

I never did make it but fellow board member J-sauce checked for me. Thanks J-sauce!
I was afraid the sway bar would be gone..... the whole damn car was gone! I should have got that bar the day I first saw it! Let this be a lesson to the rest of you!

ok, the 129 500 bar is 30.5mm thick at the widest part.

i am getting one mailed down to me this week, so will be able to report back as to weather it fits, as eric never confirmed 'yes, the 129 bar will deffinatly fit a 124'

nick.ged 11-24-2010 12:29 PM

as far as i recal, i'm sure i read a post on rear bars for 124 202 and 203 being interchangable, just a few mm different in width, but dont quote me!

will a 129 rear fit a 124?

iwrock 11-24-2010 03:49 PM

I remember reading that W210 E55 rear swaybars fit W124s, but have a problem interfering with the fuel line...

IIRC, you can get an aftermarket Eibach thats 22mm.

bam.

fits, but not quite perfect.

nick.ged 11-24-2010 04:39 PM

and the 129 front fits, as said by wipplem104 in the thread above^, but may need new brackets.

thats all good as it means i aint wasted the cash to try it to find it dont fit.

Hmmm, time to source a swaybar!

I got 4 days off, and this would make a nice project.

Upgrade from 500E bars!

I never confirmed cause I didn't know if it would or it wouldn't. I needed that bar that I found at the J.Y. so I could find out but I didn't get back there soon enough to get it and it was gone.

rear bars are 18mm e500 19mm limo. a jap company advrtises a 22mm rear bar to match 32mm front.

what size do we 'think' will match 30.5, im hoping that the sl500 rear one will go on... waiting for size advice from a friend.

nick.ged 11-25-2010 02:24 PM

the 129sl front sway bar is almost exactly the same thickness as the e60 amg...

iwrock 11-25-2010 02:26 PM

How about the H/R 20mm W210 E55 rear bar?

the std e55 and e50 rear bar is 20mm;

is that an aftermarket 22mm barthat fits the 210, i think idealy for 30.5 front i need around 20 or 21 rear, might see how much a local shop will bend one to match st shape in 21mm bar.
