m102 2.0 to m102 2.3 engine swap
hi guys
anyone done this job before? should be fairly simple. i found a sub assembly. need cylinder head and stuff for the 2.3. going to build it up and drop it in. anybody got any advice for me on the surgery? |

find an m103 3.0L and drop that in instead

3.0L is probably a rare engine where he is.

they are quite rare but not impossible 2 find in SA. Its just easier 2 do the 2.3 coz the wiring loom,ecu and manifolds match.

well i'll be quite interested to know the power difference, i've only got a 2.0L as well

on paper there isnt much difference. Like 10kw and 20Nm torque between the 2 models. But a friend of mine that has done the swap before advised me that there is a huge difference in the feeling of the car. Coz the 2.3 has larger pistons, bigger bore and bigger valves.
