3.27 Vs. 3.07 LSD Diff. In My 300E
 

OK,, I want one, it's just a matter of what kind..... I want torque but I don't want to do power wasting burnouts whenever I'm in first gear. The 3.27 differential would probably offer me the best throttle response but from a stand still takeoff but I don't want to smoke the tires. The 3.07 with LSD would offer better road holding because it's using more surface area of rubber to propel the car. Too bad they don't make a 3.27 diff. with LSD.... Do they??? Anyway,, I don't want to drag race my 300E but I am assuming I can get better throttle response with an upgraded diff.. Because I can't afford to buy one of each and install just to test I'm asking for opinions. What should I go with??? Also, price comes into consideration. I am currently heading towards the 3.27 diff because of price verses one that is equipped with LSD.

Opinions and options would be greatly appreciated!

You need to work out what the change in rpm's will be at your most common speed so you can decide whether you are comfortable with the change. If you do lots of highway miles going to a 3.27 ratio will increase your rpm's at 60mph by a fair amount. If you know your existing ratio you can work this out. Personally I would be looking at the 3.07 with lsd, this I think would give you the best rpm's and acceleration, and lsd is always nice to have.

My M104 Engined 1992 300ce has a 3.07 from the factory.

Does yours have a lower or higher rationt han that?

My 300E currently has 2.65:1 diff but is soon to be higher. I purchased a 3.27 diff from Silver Star last week.I can't wait to get that sucker installed! :D :D

I called rick last week, he was very brief and said he had none and to look somewhere else. He also told me $800 was a good price for a used one. He charged you $400 for a rebuilt LSD diff right? Sup wit dat?? :D

Mine was slightly used on the track, hence the discount.
