Not cutting the hood was one of my goals with the 107. But ITB or even 4 or 6 Webbers carbs would be nice.

I think you may be a little high on that cd009 number. It's torque plus traction that breaks stuff also. A cd009 may live at higher power in a drift car but it will shatter in a drag car. You can also build a t56 to take much more with custom parts.

I would love to do ITB. Im not really into carbs...ive messed with some but I prefer electronic injection.

Ive talked to a couple guys that run a nissan race shop here and thats what they said. And rebuilding a cd009 is cheaper than a t56. I personally wont be drag racing it. I want to do more hill climbs with it. My dream is to enter it into Pikes Peak.

Right my point was that if you get to the point of breaking them you don't have alot of options on Improving the cd009. Twins on a v12 will be easily in 1000hp range. At approx 20psi a completely stock 408 hp m120 is over 1000 hp. Just saying. Your already adapted to now so no. Point in turning back now. I wish I could find a good one for 500 around here.

We have a shop here that drags and drifts nissans. They rebuild these transmissions to hold to about 1200hp. Worst case I will go to a custom sequential transmission if I keep losing cd009's.

I applaud your perserverance and creativity. It's nice to see projects taking form and moving toward completion. Nothing is easy with these.

I'm using the stock flex plate for the starter. Then I have an adapter to a redrilled Skyline R32 flywheel with a 350z clutch. Later on I will have a custom flywheel made to reduce the number of parts and to make it lighter. I designed the adapter plate and the flywheel adapter and then had them machined at a local shop. If this combo works out I want to put it in one of my W111/W112 or my W108 cars.

Thumbs up

I also have a M120 that is destined for a new home. It's currently in a 1995 SL600 and runs on one bank like garbage and dumps fuel.

I'm excited to hear how the megasquirt thing goes as that's exactly what I am planning to do with mine. Awesome project and I will be watching.

You could say that the subject matter, timeliness, and the non-dead nature of the project was inspiring (enough to make me join). I've lurked and read, but never felt the need to post before.

I will keep you updated. I'm looking at a SL600 tomorrow. The SL600 im looking at has the biodegradable wiring issue. A new wiring harness is $1100 and running standalone with a DIY harness will probably be around $1800. If I get it the plan is to megasquirt it or do a AEM ecu and integrated with the rest of the wiring in the mercedes.

...about the same as a 617.

Guess I could drop it into my Studebaker.
