Manual swap ECU questions (M112/113)

Probably a question for those with STAR software experience. Can you use STAR software to alter an automatic ECU to no longer look for the automatic and run a manual gearbox?

The Chrysler Crossfire guys seem more into these swaps than the Mercedes guys, but rarely do they talk about the ECU work. I've seen a few mention that they had to buy "unlocked" ECUs, which I cannot find for sale, while others don't say anything and the car is on the road.

I am entertaining a 6speed swap into a W209 CLK320, and was curious what hurdles I may encounter on the electronics side. The SLK320 was offered with the same engine and the 6speed so I guess I am wondering if the options exist in the STAR menus to just make the car run like a stock SLK320.

I've done my fair share of manual conversions over the years, but generally older cars where either there was no ECU, or on JDM cars I've always just bought a manual ECU on ebay and plugged it in.

I do have STAR, and have used that to change settings for AMG cars when I do coil-overs but that is about all I do with it.

You need to flash the ECU, its not a matter of flipping a bit using an SDS.

I've looked into this, before buying my S2000 was planning to manual swap a C55.

Do you have a FB? There's a gentleman in Southern California who reverse engineered the ECU and can get you setup.

Instagram is my sole form of social media, he happen to be on there?

Otherwise does he have a business name?

Thanks!

I thought I had read that it was a setting you could change in the software but maybe not. I might be interested in this contact information as well.
