On what car? W201, W124? Tell me...have you already done it or are you considering it?

Also, have anyone got the part number on the grill insert?

I have one on my W202 and I'm putting one on my W201 this weekend. I don't know about other people staring at my car but I know I walk away from it backwards so I can admire it!

Regards,

Don

Are you going to cut it yourself or did you buy a chopped one?

BTW: Where did you buy it? MB?

I cut mine myself. It's pretty easy with a Dremmel Rotory Tool

190 d. I have the grill on my 124 for like a year now. My car is a 87 so what I did first was just add more chrome strips to the stock grill to get the look. Later I upgraded to the 95 hood and now im pleased with the look. To me it makes any benz stand out more and gives it a more prestigious classy appearance. Don, did you get the stock oem grill from a s600 and just trim it down with a dremel tool? I bought mine from performance products and it's definantly a aftermarket grill cause it seems the strips at the corners were glued. As of now it's falling apart.

I just cut down an E-Class W210 Grill to fit my w202 C-Class and W201 190E. Everything is factory quality.

Don

black 1994 c280: Have you got pics of the project? When you trimmed it down, have you still got anything that holds it toghter out in the ends or is it just the tiny vertical "strips" that hold it?

The reason for this cracking up seems to be because the outer frame is trimmed off. All you that already done this...any opions? Recommendations?

190Dee,

I don't have any pics right now but you do have to cut off part of the outer frame. I haven't had any cracking on mine but my grill doesn't do much except just sit there and look pretty :p so there's not much flexing.

Correction from previous post: The W210 E-Class grill will work for the C-Class but for the W201 and W124 you will need to cut down the W140 S-Class grill.

Regards,

Don

Thanks black 1994 C280, I guess you'r the same one that goes under 1993 silver 190e on 190revolution. I did see some pics of your grill there. It looks great! Nice car you got.

Yes, I am 1993 Silver 190E on 190Rev. I tried to register under 1994 Black C280 but it didn't work correctly.

I don't have any pics of my C280 or 190E Avantgarde grills up yet. The pic that is up now is of my stock 190E grill painted black. It gives some of the effect of the Avantgarde Grill for almost no $$.

Here's the pic:

Regards,

Don

Thumbs up Good looking!

Is it all black painted or very dark gray? Have you got any problems with chips?

It's all black. My digital camera made it look dark gray. I didn't have any trouble with chips. I used 4 light coats of black and 2 coats of clear coat.

Regards,

Don
