Offset Question For 500E/E500 owners

Okay so I am looking into purchasing some rims.
The rims I am looking at are as follows:

18x8.5 with an offset of 35 (front)
18x10 with an offset of 30 (rear)

I don't want my wheels to really stick out too much past the way the factory ones are. I am not into the overly-aggressive look. I also do not want to user spacers.

Will this combination work?

Offsets seem correct, however, be VERY careful about the rear. I would test fit them on, and and at least one front & rear tire mounted on each.

The rear outside rim needs to be either flush with the outside of the rear fender-lip when the car is on the ground (don't measure while the car is jacked up, unless you jack it up by the rear control-arm), or INSIDE the rear fender-lip.

Thanks neil. If I could test fit them before purchasing I would, but I cant since I am buying them from someone that is not local and it is an individual not a ompany.:(

Offer to pay "half" for him to send (you pay shipping) you the front & rear wheel. If they measure correctly, you'll send him the other "half" otherwise, you send them back and get your "half" returned (you pay shipping both ways).

Otherwise, leave this transaction unless it is very inexpensive (under $800).

Don't think it will work!

I've fitted 10" rear wheels to my E500 and found that you have a great deal of clearance for outside extension (up to 41mm) before you will experience interference, even with a lowered suspension.

OTOH, there seems to be very little inside clearance in the rear suspension, which means you have to be very careful about the range of offsets you consider.

Your 18x10 ET30 rims will provide 20mm less clearance than stock on the inside of the wheel. I've fitted 10" rims without problems that had offsets of ET19 to ET22, which provides 7 to 9mm less inside clearance.

The most I've seen from a wheel manufacturer's recommended 500E/E500 10" wheel was 13mm less clearance on the inside. 20mm seems to be beyond the acceptable range.

FWIW, I don't think your wheel deal will work! :(
