1985 380SL - 700 actual miles - $40,000
Seen a 85 380SL, with 700 actual miles sell for $40,000 at a auction. Was a very nice car and obviously like brand new. has anyone else recently seen a 1980s Mercedes with lower actual miles?

Any caer that old with that low a mileage is bound to be all dried up, since it probably has not been serviced. Any experienced tech will tell you that an older car with extremely low mileage is not a good deal, unless you plan to park it and show it. and the 380SL is definitely NOT a collectible. For $40,000 one can get a very low mileage SL500, E500, C43, etc.

I also watched the Barret Jackson Auction last night. I was kind of laughing to myself when that car sold. I know the owner probably paid more than that when he bought it and the funny thing is he lost money and didn't even enjoy it!
I wonder what he was thinking. I couldn't believe how much some of those Musclecars were selling for especially that ZL1 Camaro, something like $285K it was more than the Shelby Cobras ![]() Just goes to show you that anything can become a high dollar collectable if it has the right history.
