I downloaded picture of socket to my pictures.wish they would use a basic uploader for pictures I don't know what a damn url is,my picture are in my damn computer

So the Renntech simply does just remove the "engine running" signal to the ASR controle module and makes it "think" that the engine is turned off
And because of that the ASR MIL and ABS MIL lamps will come on, because the module is in a kind of "ignition and test bulb state" even though the ABS is still in funktion, becuase the ASR module also can activate this lamp and does as the module is "ignition state testing its bulbs" therefore they had to remove the pin 35 to avoid the ABS lamp litting up.

This also give sense as putting the ASR module into an ignition state testing is not seen as an error and will therefore not activate anny error codes.
They also remove the warning triangle lamp wire because you dont want that lamp to come on as this is also tested in the ignition test state.
But instead of turning the ASR MIL lamp off they led the ASR MIL lamp indicator lit up, so this is an indicator for you that ASR is shut off.

This is also likely why this system was only developed for the ASR in cars with the stand alone ASR module box N30/1
Because the ASR was also implemented in the 6 cyl. cars such as the E320 and the earlier 300E 12 and 24 Valves from 89-92
These cars have an older ASR system called ASR II and the newer ASR III in the 500E/E500 is just not the same system.

The ASR II system was an futher develping of the ABS controle unit.
So therefore you cant just remove ASR as this signal to the ASR controle module is not pressent or used on these ealier ASR II systems.

So to do it on the 6 cyl. models, you would have to take apart the controle unit and fix it on the main boards elektronics some how

So, there is no practical method to disable ASR on a '95 E320 w/o disabling both the ABS & ASR via the "jumper method"…. Right?

I have a -90 500SL with M119.066 engine so there is ASR II?
I attached the documet from WIS. So can I use method above to disable
ASR system permanently but still keep ABS?

As stated here before ASR II simple disable is to cut wires 34 & 35 from N4/1 box. Need to try this by myself too. I attached some documentation about asr II

Did u ever solve your ASR defeat concern.....I would love to do this on my 1991 SL

I bit late to this rodeo, but has anyone successfully disabled/tricked the ASR in an E320 while retaining the ABS?

The year of car matters. 97 ( or very very late 96 ) was the first year for the drive by wire throttle using Bosch ME 2.0 / 2.1. This is completely different from the 1/2 mechanical 1/2 electric throttle body.

The ME 2.0 / 2.1 system has a dyno mode accessible from the 38 pin under hood connector. I don't recall what pin needs jumpered / grounded / power applied to.

Thanks, yes I have read that after the w124 model, the M104 had a setup that is easily defeatable. But so far I have not found a way for my car.

My point is, you have not identified your cars year / build date or if drive by wire.

None of the non-V8 W124 have that port. They have the 8 or 16 pin port. Mine has the 16 with the red LED.

My cars are listed in my profile. Also since its a w124 E320, it can only be 93-95 in USA. They are identical mechanically.

I have a 95 e320 m104 wagon that I just competed a auto to 5 speed transmission swap On. Does anyone have any idea ho to bypass the ASR or switch it off but keep the ABS? I’ve looked through quite a few post but I’ve only seen what appears to be a bypass for the v8 motors.
