ASR defeat on M103 and M104
124 series with M103 and M104 engines has ASR 2 while the V8 has ASR 3.
My car (90-300TE) has 2 control units that are involved when the accelerator is "strangeled" when ASR kicks in. The N30 box (ASR/ABS) and the N4/1 box (electronic accelerator) Because M103/M104 has a electronic accelerator they have an actuator to adjust the throttle, and to cut throttle when ASR kicks in. I have a theory when it comes to ASR defeat on the 6 cyl. and I want your oppinion: The N30 and N4/1 box communicates over 2 wires. On the N4/1 box the pins used to this are 31 and 34. 31: To ABS/ASR control unit - Throttle valve actual value 34: From ABS/ASR control unit - throttle valve setpoint. If I connect these over a switch, I believe ASR would be switched off. And the ABS and Tempomat should still work!? According to what I've read in WIS there is no storage of fault messages in the ASR 2 systems.
