Hey, more problems.
Today I found one of my rear shock is leaking , and the store where I order my koni went out of bussiness. Where could I possibly take them for return. I suppose Koni should have life time warrenties for shocks ? thank you |

You can always call or email Koni directly. (don't have contact info offhand, but I'm sure you can find it pretty easily) I don't think Koni has such a warranty. The most you might get is a couple year warranty but don't count on one. I think Bilstein has some kind of extended warranty, but I don't think Koni does. How long have you had these shocks? Were they professionally installed? (nothing personal, it just would give you more leverage talking with a Koni customer service rep.) Contact Koni and plead your case. If they don't help you out any just trash the set and buy Bilstein's. Although trite, taking your business elsewhere is one of the more powerful statements you can make.
Sorry to hear of your situation, hope this helps...Lee |

Lee :
The installations of the shocks are completed by me and a friend of my. I follow every single step shown on the direction, and my friend do have a couple experiences of installing shocks and structs. We even double checked the procedures and make sure everything is right. Thank you, I had found the number and koni's address/number from their offical website. I only had those shocks installed for only about a year. All memember from my peer group had koni, and I as the only person who had the leaking problem. : ( I am always the person who had all these problem, (simplly out of luck ) a differinal oil leak, upper timing cover, the recent headgasket, water pump leak, ignition coil failure.. too much to mention. The thing is that the car only had 32000 miles on it... : ( |

Peter,
Sorry to hear about your difficulties with that car. Perhaps my suggestion of trading the 300E for something quicker has even more merit? I'm not saying you did anything wrong with installation, but if the issue were to go to court or otherwise get nasty it would help your case if they were "professionally installed". Even if you and your friend were more competant than the "professional" installing them. Good luck with getting it resolved. Glad we could help. Lee |

Koni Shocks have a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser, Proof of purchase is required. Not sure if you got through to Koni, as the local Koni(I live near the Hebron, KY address) is a distribution warehouse. Someone that might be able to help you get to the right person is Jason Burkett at Paragon Products in Texas, His Web address is www.*****************.com
His email address is "paragon@interconnect.net" Tell him I sent you, He is a great guy with outstanding customer service. I buy almost everything from him. They specialize in Porsches, but as we all know, this German stuff mostly comes from the same suppliers, (Bosch, ATE, Mahle, etc.) Good Luck, Mike Mullins |
