I just bought this car last month and love it! But.... it could use some help in the power dept. It's all stock except the K&N air filter I just installed. I can't find much performance info so I'll ask you folks.

I'm looking for basic bolt-ons like intake/exhaust, maybe a chip. I heard there is an airbox mod?? Who's stuff works, who's doesn't?
I would also consider N2O since I have a generic kit I've never used lying around. Can it be used "dry" on this motor? Stock fuel pressure ok? Will the stock computer manage the mixture? I was thinking of a 75HP or so boost.

Any way to quicken/firm-up the transmission shifts?

Any info on how to turn off ASR? (I was almost rearended last week because this feature wouldn't allow me to accelerate)

Congrats on the new car. A kleeman will net you HUGE gains. With the semi-recent price cut the 6 cyl kit is much more affordable. Not to mention quite a bit safer than NOS in my opinion but.... Take a peek at this link http://www.mbautowerks.com/performance/00002/00002.html

You get very close to CLK 55 hp numbers with a supercharged M112. You will not quite catch the torque, but with shorter gearing and several hundred less lbs to lug around its not as critical. (think C32 powerplant clone vs CLK 55 clone)

Also, I've been told putting the shorter gearing (3.27 vs stock 3.07) makes a big difference. When doing any of these don't overlook going with a very simple upgrade that will help all aspects of the car's performance....wheels/tires. Luke can point you in the right direction there. 225/45/17 front, 245/40/17 rear works great. You really do NOT need to go into the 18's tire wise. No more rubber on the road, heavier setup just soaks up horsepower...

Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately that setup is way more than I wanted to spend. An extra 100HP would be nice, but jeeze. I guess I'm spoiled because I'm used to chevy V8 performance, price and parts options. It seems there just isn't much available for this 320 motor. I'm leanin' more toward the N2O every day. I wrote NOS/Holley about this motor, but they don't have a clue. I guess I'll just experiment with a dry system and see what happens. I have an Autometer air/fuel gauge and ex temp gauge I can install to keep an eye on it.

That could get expensive quickly.

Cool, I never thought of a pulley. I'll check it out.
I did speak to a few places that do Upsolute programing, cheapest one was $410. Quite a $ to HP shock to me, but I guess I'll have to adjust.
