A 250sl with five speed
For those who knew Frank Mallory, you knew about his 250SL. He purchased it new from the autoshow where it premiered, and had it delivered exactly like the show car, with a 5-speed and a chromed engine compartment. It's the only one like it to come out of the factory. He maintained the car scrupulously up until the days prior to his death.
Since he didn't take it with him (he apparently joked about being buried in it), the car is going up for sale soon. I'm a friend of the family, so I got to hear of it, but my pockets aren't deep enough to afford it. Details to follow. -CTH

I have seen this car, and it is amazing, and well-documented by Frank.
