1989 560SL Vibration

I have a vibration that only occurs @ ~35mph as you accelerate. It does not occur when you first start to drive. As the car warms up and you drive more it begins to get worse. I have learned how to avoid by getting up to 35 backing off the pedal then continue to accelerate.

I have replaced everything know to mankind underneath starting with the engine mounts and working back rear subframe mounts.

This group has helped me out before, so I appreciate any ideas.

Tecqboy & nobby,

Thanks for the response but all of the items you mentioned have already been addressed!!

I have had this issue for a very long time. The only thing that I tried was to jack up the springs with spacers. I think it helped but left me with uneven tire wear.

This thing has really got me stumped. I like to do things myself so I have not taken it to the MB dealer $$$$$$. I am retired!!!

This makes me suspect half-shaft bearings and/or wheel bearings in the rear... Bearing/race problems can manifest themselves in harmonic vibration, which you have somewhat countered by accel, slack off, then re-accel.

Of course, I am wrong more often than right, so this and a buck-fifty would buy you a coffee...
