Interior Light Switch Replacement SL320

I need help on how to remove the overhead console that houses the interior light switch that controls whether the light comes on when the doors are opened. Does anyone know the trick to remove this without breaking the clamps or latches? Thanks.

This reply is late, but if you are still wanting to know...

You first remove the mirror as explained here. Then you gently pry the two maplights out. Remove the three screws which hold the bracket for the mirror and the two screws revealed by the removed maplights. The complete maplight assembly can now be removed.
