Hard at it.

The resto project is coming along nicely. been alot of work though, but it will be worth it the end. My oldest son is becoming a pretty good welder out of this project. Yea it has been alot of work for a car that will not be worth to much when completed but since it was my fathers favorite car and when He passed away I inherited it so getting ride of it was not an option. Attached is a pic of the boy hard at it repairing my mistakes.

That's the situation I am in with the SLC I've been working on. I inherited it from my father-in-law who died suddenly and unexpectedly last year. He bought the car from a friend in 1999 and I got to be the one to drive it from Manhattan to Long Island where he saw it for the first time.

I've learned so much more about Benzes after he died than before. And everytime I undertake something on the car, I wonder whether or not he'd approve. I know he would not like the fact that I put some aftermarket wheels on the car, and definitely know he would not approve of my not using Michelins.

But I like to think I can carry on his love for the cars, at least a little bit. I've been using a lot of his tools... filling in the gaps where my tool collection was missing.

Steve
