Leaking Steering Gear Box
Does anyone have any experience with repair of leaking steering gear box? My options are to install a seal kit @60.00 plus labor or install a repair kit @129.00 plus labor or spring for a rebuilt unit for @500.00 plus labor. Is seal worth time and effort? Also, fluid leak has soften front lower control arm bushing. How hard is it for a DIY to replace bushing? Car has auto suspension and ASR. Thanks for any info, feedback or suggestions.

fwillie, you need to specify the exact year and model.
I had my PS box resealed by my mechanic. Lots of special tools and expertise are needed. He's done a ton of them and made it look easy. Definitely worth the money to have him do it. I didn't want a rebuilt unit as I've heard plenty of people say they aren't any better than the old ones. This was for my 300D.
