107 Seat Frame Anyone???

I have order new front seat covers, arm rest conversion kit, and rear seat from www.4basic.com as I wound up getting allover best price there in my shopping around. I also order new bottom horsehair pads thebenzbin.com.

In inspecting my drivers seat, it looks like I will need a new bottom seat frame. Does anyone have a source for an excellent used one or a source for a new one? I hate to put all of this money bringing the csometics back only to be delayed if the seat frame is damaged.........

The car is a 1980 450SL, W107.

Thanks,Eric

front seat frame springs? 450sl

I have a 450 sl 1977 and just replaced front drivers seat. Same source. If springs are broken or out of poistin, you can tighten up the seat springs to frame with c clips (hog rings). This can be a pretty permanenet repair. If frame is shot, possible welding shop can repair same. Other possibility is jubk yeard, and this is iffy. One of these suggestins should helpl good luck, Abe G

Not sure if they have seat frames, but in case you need a source for other items, and you don't already have this link, here it is anyway.

Phil, here at FastLane, can get you the seat frame for a fair amount less than the dealer. As I recall, it will likely run about $650.00 for a new one.

Ed,

I have one out of my parts car (actually, I guess there are two).

If you have no other good solutions, I can schlep myself and my toolbox out to the storage yard, retrieve one, and send it to you.

If this seems like your answer, email me at diqmayer@sbcglobal.net.
