R129 - Soft top hydraulic fluid

The MB part number is 000 989 91 03 - does anyone know the recommended manufacturer and grade/specs?

Just discovered mine is quite below the min line and so I want to suck the remaining out and pump in some new.

Cheers
Lea

Lea can you post where the pump reservoir is found? I would be curious to check mine.

Sorry for not updating this half of the thread - I made a cross post on the Tech forum but forgot this one

It turned out to be a 'no-brainer' in the end as the system is rated at 1.25 litres and dealer price for 1L was 8GBP.

I sucked the old fluid out from the reservoir (measured at around 4/5 1L) and it was black - however filter was clean and no gloop in the bottom.

Replaced it with nice new MB MH-Z fluid and now my levels are back to max - it was quite a way under the min before

Tip: according to MB data, measure the fluid level when top is within the compartment

Just a quick question about MB top hydraulic fluid - is the fluid for the top the same as the MB hydraulic fluid for the suspension??

Thanks,

Great! Thank you.
Had 1/2 liter left over from an S500 I used to own, and just bought an SL, so wanted to top off the fluid tank for the top WITHOUT buying one more thing.... LOL!!
