R129 AC Condensor Tech Question

I recently purchased a 1994 Mercedes 320SL with 48k miles on it, during the recent run of hot and humid weather here in the northeast I have noticed a problem and I am looking for some advice. After driving with the AC on when I stop and shut off the car, I am getting what appears to be steam coming from the center of the car (middle of frame both F/R and Side to side. It seems to be caused by clear fluid dripping down onto the exhaust, it is clear and odorless either as fluid or in the steam state there is no smell. I have checked all my fluids and find no loss of any, temp guage runs at about 80 all the time. Is it normal for the car to drain AC condensation in this area, center of car above exhaust, or is there a blockage present that may be diverting the flow. It seems odd that MB would engineer this car to drain cold fluids onto a hot exhaust, or is this a sign of a more extensive problem yet to surface.
Thanks for your input in advance,
Keith

MB Doc
Thanks for the reply so this is a normal drain area and should not pomote any worry on my part? I am new to this vehicle and don't want to make something go south by operator error.
Regards,
Keith
