Spark control module 92 500sl
Had spark control module fail.. Car then runs on 4 cylinders (limp mode?) Unburned fuel turns catalytic RED HOT. Module costs min $1600.00 (...2200 merc) plus labor. Module is bolted to left front fender. Found a used one for $650 and installed it myself. It worked. This was risky as it came from a wrecked 500; ya never know....
