There is some great informatiom on these sites
For example I have a Hirschmen antenna on my 450SLC. Amazingly well engineered device. Even in the coldest weather it works. One thing, The previous owner had it installed and the "wipes" top lubricate the antenna are dried up. What should I use to lubricate the shaft? I've been told WD 40, Mercedes sunroof grease, but what is really good, as the reception this antenna brings is is great. It is hooked up to the cars switch so I can raise it partially or all the way or have it stay up. I didn't realize the antenna switch is a three way.
Also, while I am writing about switches, the previous owner left me a lot of stuff. All the paperwork going back to 1985. The complete record when he had the engine, transmission and rear end rebuilt in 95, and until I bought it last October the car had only 5K miles since the rebuild. Back to switches. I pulled out a couple that the lights don't work, found out they are LED and I have a supply of them in the trunk, it looks to me as if you push the LED into a small hole and the other end into another switch that is out, as the LED has a long wire with a bulb on either end. So I suspect the switch provides the electrical power for the light?
thanks
