'78 450sl - what's it worth?

Thinking about selling my '78 450sl. Both seats are rough, some rust. Recent head job, master cylinder and water pump. Mileage ?

Trying to decide if I should have it painted and put in some seat covers or just sell it "as is".

What price range for this "average condition" car?

Thoughts?

i am no expert on 107s but do watch prices as one day i want to buy one. i would estimate one like yours with needs is from 3 to 6000.

not a bad car, but there are a lot to choose from out there

i think most serious buyers would shy away with one with rust problems...

just reality. Don't know of any 78 107's i think they stopped in 1972

Uhm.... you're thinking W113 230-250-280SL, stopped in 1971, replaced by the 107 which went from '72 til '89.

Rust bubbling can be fixed, rust holes is something else.

The saying I like the best and seems to be appropriate is that " Every SL 107 is worth $20,000.00 minus the money it would take to make it perfect".
