Need Advice on Removing console Side Panels in '87, 560

How do I remove a side panel of the console in my '87 560SL? Is the center console all one piece or is there a way to remove just the side panels. I need to get under the console cover to remove an unwanted CD Changer control. If I have to remove the console cover as one piece, how do I do it?
