Drain tube leak

Aloha all,
Anyone know where the hydraulic fluid comes from that leaks out of the drain tube behind the left rear wheel. I notice it leaks after I've used my convertible; either putting it down or up. It stops leaking after a while if I haven't cycled the top. I tried peering in the panel under the trunk hinges, and don't see anything obvious.
Thanks for your help; and this wonderful site.

Umm... The Soft Top hydralic system does not have a drain tube. I think one of your pistons that raises the top is leaking...

Are you looking to clean out the drain for the compartment that the leak resides in?

Thanks for the reply Justinwrock. I'm trying to find where the leak is coming from so I can replace the part. I'm not familiar with the compartment that holds this "leaked" fluid and drains overboard. If it probably doesn't come from my convertible mechanism, what component drains into this compartment if there's a leak. I noticed my power steering pump has developed a "whine" when I first start up, and the wheels are turned. It goes away after a minute of driving, but I can't imagine my power steering reservoir draining to the back of the car. I'm puzzled as to the source of this drain, and am trying to find the leaking component.
Thanks for the help.

Do you have an 300SL, 500SL, 600SL, SL320, SL500, or SL600? Depending on the car, it could be the soft top, or the suspension.

Found it, you have a 500SL. What side of the car is it leaking from? I am at work, and I can take a look at mine when I get home.
