Body/Top Color Combos

I inherited my dad's '87 560 SL, which is red with palomino interior. The original soft top, which is dark brown, needs to be replaced. In restoring the car, I am trying to keep everything as original as possible. I will soon get it repainted the same red color. On the other hand, I have never been crazy about the brown soft top with the red body. I was thinking about replacing it with a tan top that would match or come close to the color of the palomino interior. Before making a final decision, I have two questions: (1) Did '87 560's ever come with a red body/tan soft top combination?; and (2) If so, are tan soft tops still available in the german canvas?

If you want to offer your own opinion of which color top you prefer with the red body, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.
