winter night headlight project done

since i couldnt get a set of euro headlights for what i felt were a reasonable price i decided to clean up mine. it was well worth the time to take them apart and clean the inside of the bulb and replace the outer bezel. at the same time i painted the headlight wiper arms, windshield wiper arm, windshield squiters and door handles to match. the old 129 now has a fresh look to it

i wish i had the nerve to try to cut off the long bumps on the headlights and buff them out. has anyone done this? why are the three bumps there anyway, are they some kind of wiper stop?

I took the headlights apart on the two 124's this year and cleaned them and it made a big difference. I believe the prongs on the headlights are for some types of alignment equipment that is not really too prevalent. I always hated them. The lights on the TE don't have any though.

Please note that if you list your cars in you sig via "User CP" then we know what you are talking about. So then... what model are you talking about?
