R129 dash phone replacement with nothing?
In a 1994 SL600, the OEM dash phone is horribly outdated and unwanted. I've heard that there was a way to make a cubby hole in its place. Is this true? Was there a 'no-phone' option in the R129s that has an insertable cubby hole instead of a phone? If so, where might I be able to find the insert?
Thank you!

There is already a cubby back there. Just pull the phone out, and youll be left with a lined pocket.

Really? Sweet. I figured that pulling the phone would result in a gaping hole into the dash cavity.
Thanks for the info!
