Question Tempostat (Cruise Control) standard with ASR?

Hi… I need some technical assistance on my R129 '93.

From several MB forums I see posts that claims that the R129 is born with cruise control if it has ASR. Mine doesn’t have the control arm, so is it possible just to buy such and then have it connected somehow, and have a functional cruise control…?

If so, could somebody advice me how or let me know where to find the information, how to connect it and probably the MB part no. for the control arm…?

Rud

Found something from 2001

I found the following post from 2001

I installed the cruise control switch and plugged it into an already available connector under the steering column and beware the simplicity of life: I HAVE CRUISE CONTROL NOW! All I needed was a switch and a manual filed hole in the steering column cover (or buy a pre-holed cover for $100+).

greetingz,
But will this work on a 500SL fro 1993...? And is it as easy as mentioned in the quote...?

Question Still need help on this

Today I got the same message from the local Mercedes mechanics, that I can only add cruise control to my 500SL (129) if I don’t have ASR – but I have ASR. Therefore I badly need some input to the previous post, about only adding the shaft (control switch arm) because everything else is already there…?

Anyone out there, knowing anything about this, please let me know.

Rud

Finally today I got my Tempostat (Cruise Control) installed, and it works.
Last summer I bought the control arm from a guy in Germany, and finally had it installed today.

I can therefore verify, that all is needed to have cruise control on a R129’s with ASR is the control arm, because the connector and wire is already there.
