14" tyres for 1984 sl ??
can anyone recommend a good tyre for 1984 14" SL alloys ??

205/70-R14 fits well and maintains a comfortable ride. I assume you have a V-8 and 6.5 wide wheels, of course.
Michelin Pilot, Bridgestone RE series, etc. Take a look online at tirerack, lots of info there. Jim

Stick with the 195 size. If you go 205 on the 280, it will decrease your acceleration. Don't ask me how I know

Same car as mine.....
I had 7" X 14" BBS with 205/70-R14 tires and it rode and looked fine. Only removed them because I scored a set of Pentas in 15", so I now have 195/65-R15 tires on her. With that 3.69 rear end, the bigger tires worked well. 195/70-R14 will also work well on the 6" bundts. Jim
